About
Our Model
TPC is member-owned and member-led. That is not a tagline. It is how decisions get made, and how trust gets built.
System thinking
Members approach every initiative with the group’s interest first.
When members work together on a project, we ask everyone to consider what is best for TPC as a whole, not only for one organization. Your leadership has made a collective commitment to that model, and they expect each member organization to bring the same spirit of commitment.
The default posture at TPC is a yes, a willingness to move forward together. When an initiative is not workable for your organization, we want that conversation early and openly, so we can understand the obstacles and find a path forward.
We also ask that once a member joins an initiative, they stay committed to its success and pursue the most engaged strategy available to them. The most committed approach typically yields the greatest results, for everyone.
Four pillars
What each member actively invests in.
These are not aspirational values. They describe the investment every member makes in the group’s success, and when you serve on a TPC committee you are both contributing to and benefiting from all four.
Culture
A shared way of working in which the group’s interest is the first consideration on any initiative.
Commitment
A default posture of yes, honest conversation when something will not work, and follow-through once a member joins an initiative.
Engagement
Clinical and physician leadership at the table where it matters. Getting the right voices involved is what makes change durable, and TPC helps you build those internal bridges.
Shared Resources
No member carries the full weight of an initiative alone. When we pursue a new supplier relationship, TPC runs the RFI, the RFP and the contract negotiations on behalf of all members. Your team focuses on implementation and results, not process.
Governance
Collaborative by design, with a clear purpose at every level.
Board
Member CEOs
Sets overall culture, vision and strategy.
Executive Steering Committee
CFOs and COOs
Promotes systemness across the membership and approves key decisions.
Clinical Steering Committee
CMOs, CNOs and clinical leaders
Brings clinical leadership into the same governance process.
Business Line Committees
Supply Chain Council, Revenue Cycle Council, Clinical Value Analysis Teams and service line committees
Where the work of evaluating and implementing TPC initiatives actually happens.
One member, one vote.
Every TPC committee operates on the same foundational principle. Regardless of the size of your organization, your voice carries equal weight. TPC facilitates and brings subject matter expertise. The direction, the decisions and the outcomes belong to the members.
The mission of every committee is the same: operational excellence, financial stewardship and clinical effectiveness. Not as aspirations, but as documented, measurable results.
Distinctive Value
Purchasing power alone was never going to be enough.
TPC creates what we call Distinctive Value, and it comes from operating in two complementary modes at the same time. Most GPOs operate only in the first. TPC optimizes the GPO relationship and works in both.
Collective scale
Transactional model
Leverages the collective scale of the membership to drive competitive pricing on routine and commoditized products and services. This is where purchasing power matters most.
High touch · High accountability
Consultative model
Applies to complex programs where the difference between a good contract and a good outcome is implementation. TPC does not just identify the opportunity. We work alongside your team to execute it.
Membership is built through participation.
The real value of membership comes from participation, relationships and the work done together over time. If your organization is exploring what that looks like, the next step is a conversation.
